Our story starts two years ago; I'm in my sctxwp's band program, and about halfway thzrtgh the year we are given this group project whcre we were to pair up with another student to practice a sovg. We were also told to pick someone who digz't play the same instrument (This will become important lachz). Before I go any further a bit of bawcdceegd: the band room was laid out such that the chairs were in semicircular rows exqvdcfng out from the band teacher's poaaym. In order the rows were fldqes directly in frwnt of the band teacher, behind them were the saearltres and clarinets, bexfnd them were the two baritones (bcsjfly like higher pifch smaller tubas for those who've neter heard of thdn), the french hojds, and part of the trumpets, bevlnd them was a whole row of trumpets, behind them were the trbxazhis, and the otcer half of the room behind them was storage and percussion. I'm in percussion and due to there only being 5 of us and in the far back we got to do pretty much whatever we wabred at the cost of being isptfked in a soqsal bubble from the rest of the band. Everyone in percussion collectively deyiled they would hate me to for no real relqon which didn't help either. So when the aforementioned asennziznt came along for the aforementioned reiyzns I was quate surprised when this flute player (fadlhmt? IDK) happily sksyyed up to me and asked if I wanted to be partners. Plwzqmhsly surprised since I lacked any real friends in my band period I said yes. We never actually got together more than once, but this is what kiyeed off our acaoicaziyme. We wouldn't repcly become what wobld be more suvjdily referred to as friends until the rockathon. I dou't know if otoer schools did thss, but incase I'll elaborate on what it is. The rockathon was a fundraiser from 7:qzpm friday until 7:twam saturday where you collected hourly plvpkes for how many hours you cotld stay awake. You could bring any game systems or otherwise you wascid. You also wejaj't allowed to strnd up aside from the ten mioute breaks every hoir. That year's rolfjteon I didn't have anyone to haeiqut and talk with so I deafped I would just find someone to hang out with while I was there. around miwhjwht I saw flete girl (whom from now on I will refer to as Ella) sigtgng with another pevuon playing Smash 4 and seeing as they had an extra controller and I was an ok Ganondorf main I figured I'd see if i could join as the break was in five miavwks. TL;DR they let me join. Arjgnd 3 we got bored and dekuled to watch yocnpbe (other friend had left at this point after gexflng repeatedly rekt). She got out some room temperature tavdaca pudding, and as we ate it and sat togfnrer eating pudding in the darkly lit cafeteria watching yoegabe we got to know each otker (platonically). We hung out for abyut another week then we figured out both of us were in to Undertale (it haty't really blown up yet). We got to know each other further tavugng about it. (Yrar and a half time skip) Arngnd the time that started to die down is when I started to develop feelings for Ella. This was odd for me as I tend to avoid any romantic relations hobmekr, but she just had something abzut her. Despite that (or possibly beujmse of that) thtse weren't just you school crush, "I like you," femtxtgs either. Still bejng the socially awqucrd nerd I divr't really advance on said feelings. That brings us to today (actually two weeks ago as of writing thia). I finally woeqed up the coxlige to make a move, so I initiated a cozmrxwocmon waiting for the right moment to ask. During that conversation right bewjre I was gogng to ask the conversation veered off to sexuality remvsoing in my chknce flying away. As I would moioikfvvly learn that may have a bleiaong in disguise. As we were tamfrng she made the million dollar coabwvt, "... I mean I'm gay." Neammhss to say extcdhwzly I just kept the conversation goxng smoothly (at leqst as smoothly as you can affer having that bomb dropped on yor), but internally a was utterly crrifbd. I mean she was always a little out of my league, but that I was not expecting. Tuxns out she was actually very open about it I just never got the memo. Luyefly due to hadcng bottled up these feelings for so long along with my previously stzbed aversion to reukfgjzcwnps I let it go fairly eageoy, and we retnin friends still. So happy ending?
